How to Use the Work Hours Calculator
Enter clock-in and clock-out times for each day worked, including any unpaid break time, along with your hourly rate — the calculator converts each day to decimal hours, sums the week's total, and multiplies by your rate to show gross pay for the period.
The Work Hours Calculator handles the clock-time-to-pay conversion automatically — here's what to enter for an accurate total.
Entering daily times and breaks
For each day, enter the clock-in and clock-out time, along with any unpaid break duration — leaving out a break overstates paid hours for that day, so it's worth double-checking each entry against an actual timesheet or memory of the day.
Reading the weekly total
The calculator sums every day entered into a total for the period and multiplies by the hourly rate for a gross pay estimate — useful for checking an actual paycheck or projecting pay for an upcoming period before it's finalized by payroll.
